The First Tibetan Medicine School and Healing Center in the Baltic and Nordic Regions
About Us
Welcome to the Sowa Rigpa School, the first healing center and educational institution in the Baltic and Nordic regions dedicated to the profound art of Sowa Rigpa, the Tibetan "Science of Healing."
Our mission is to create a supportive and expanding space where individuals can explore the ancient wisdom of Tibetan Medicine to achieve physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Our Journey and Vision
Founded with the guidance and support of Dr. Nida Chenagtsang and esteemed Tibetan teacher Miss Drukmo Gyal-la, we are a close-knit community of Sowa Rigpa practitioners based in Estonia and Finland.
Rooted in nearly two decades of experience and driven by a shared commitment to preserving Tibetan healing traditions, we provide certified training and host international courses, bringing expert Tibetan doctors and teachers to Europe.
Since 2016, our center has offered a unique space for deepening understanding, cultivating awareness, and fostering harmony within the body, energy, and mind.

Each program is rooted in the mission of Sorig Khang—Dr. Nida Chenagtsang’s global organization aimed at sharing Tibetan Medicine. Meet the Team
At the heart of Tibetan Medicine is the concept of balance achieved by understanding and harmonizing the five fundamental elements: Space, Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth. These elements combine to form three vital energies, or Nye-pa—rLung (Wind), Tripa (Fire), and Beken (Water and Earth).
When in harmony, these energies support health; when disrupted, imbalance and disease arise. Tibetan Medicine’s holistic approach works to restore and maintain equilibrium through personalized treatments and practices.
The Foundations of Tibetan Medicine
-
rLung (Wind)
Represents movement and neutral energy.
-
Tripa (Fire)
Represents heat and hot energy.
-
Beken (Water and Earth)
Represents solidity and cold energy.
Another cornerstone is the Four Medical Tantras (rGyud bzhi)
The four medical tantras are a collection of ancient texts providing a comprehensive map of the body, mind, health, and disease. Composed by Yuthok Yonten Gonpo the Elder and later revised by Yuthok Yonten Gonpo the Younger, revered as the "Father of Tibetan Medicine," these teachings form the foundation of Sowa Rigpa’s theoretical and practical wisdom.

Sowa Rigpa: Beyond a Medical System
Sowa Rigpa is more than just a medical system; it’s a holistic framework for achieving well-being on all levels. The Tibetan word "Sowa" means "healing" or "nurturing," while "Rigpa" translates to "science" or "awareness." Together, they represent a system that balances body, energy, and mind, extending to spiritual well-being. Tibetan Medicine teaches that by nurturing health and longevity, individuals can pursue higher goals such as spirituality (chö), wealth (nor), and happiness (dewa).
-
Spirituality (ཆོས། chö)
The pursuit of spiritual growth
-
Wealth (ནོར། nor)
Represents both material and emotional abundance
-
Happiness (བད་བ། dewa)
Signifies a state of lasting inner peace and well-being.
